This document is the charter of the Highline Crossing Cohousing Association (HCCA) Common House Team. The purpose of this charter is to identify specific areas of responsibility for the Common House Team, and how those responsibilities will be discharged.
The Common House Team Charter is a living document and will be refined as the community governance process matures. The purpose of the Common House team is to manage the Common House in a manner which maintains the quality of the facility and encourages its use by the community.
The responsibilities of the Common House Team are listed below, organized into the following categories:
General responsibilities
Specific responsibilities
Provide overall management, maintenance and care to the Common House and it’s contents.
Provide management and oversight on use of Common House.
Provide annual budget request to community, oversee the operation within the approved budget.
Other unspecified items, as they arise, will be consulted with the Buildings team in an ongoing partnership to manage our common resources
Maintain, Replace, Repair Common House appliances
Including dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, swamp cooler, hot water heater, furnace, microwave, washers, dryers.
Maintain, Clean, Replace, Repair, and Decorate Common House Interiors
Including carpets, window coverings, furniture, light fixtures, walls
Maintain, Clean, Replace and Repair Pedway furniture
Oversee / Provide Bulletin Boards for Community Use
Maintain Calendar for Common House & Guest room usage
Update and Maintain Bulletin Board for Community information and sharing
Provide for Day to Day care and needs of Common House
Purchase Cleaning and Operating Supplies
Arrange / Oversee Weekly Cleaning of Common House – including refrigerator
Arrange / Oversee Care for Plants
Arrange / Oversee care for linens – tablecloths, dishtowels, guest room linens
Coordination of Community Winter Clean Up
