Highline Crossing is now a Community Partner with Coho US, the national cohousing organization. Highline Crossing has paid for each person in the community to be a member. The cohousing website (www.cohousing.org) has some presentations online as well as other resources. As a Community Partner, we get to utilize all the website has to offer. The website has some great resources understanding cohousing and for connecting with other communities. It is our hope that you will check out the website, attend the live presentations and learn more about cohousing concepts and how other communities have addressed some of the challenges we face. The dates for the live events are on the community calendar on our hub. However, in order to get involved, each person/household must sign up individually. Here's how:
1. Go to the cohoUS website www.cohousing.org and click on the Community Partnership link.
2. Fill out the form at the bottom of the page.
3. When it comes time to pay, you can ignore that part because Highline Crossing has already paid
4. You can use your email as your username and you will have to have a password which allows you to sign in to cohousing.org
That should complete your registration
Finally, the Steering Committee will be hosting some opportunities for us as a community to have some in-house discussions about different aspects of cohousing. We will also be looking into ways we might communicate directly with other communities to see haw they have addressed issues we are also facing. You will learn that all cohousing communities face similar challenges. You will be notified about these offerings and encouraged to attend. We are hopeful that these resources will help everyone to better understand what it means to live in cohousing and will strengthen our commitment to community. We encourage you to get involved!
